Did your holiday cards come with a boring white envelope? Mine did so I wanted to spruce them up with a little holiday cheer. I immediately thought of doodling string lights around the delivery address to add that cheery something the envelope was missing. I mean, there’s nothing else that says holiday cheer quite like bright, twinkling string lights!!
Don’t you think the string lights liven up the white envelope? The string lights are incredibly easy to draw and allow for some serious creativity. Have fun with it and allow yourself to go a little crazy :) Let's get to it!!
Supply List
All you need is your envelope, a black pen/marker and any colored pen/marker you want for the lights.
Step 1
This first step is SO easy...address your envelope! This ensures you have enough space for the necessary information.
Step 2
This step is just as easy...draw the “strings” for the lights. Go crazy and draw them wherever you desire - there’s no wrong way to draw them!
Step 3
Things are starting to get crazy…draw tiny rectangles for the base of each light. Be sure to vary the direction of the rectangles to add variety!
Step 4
Things get wild in this step...draw the outline of the light bulbs. Draw two parenthesis together for the perfect bulb!
Step 5
This is the final and easiest step...color in the bulbs and watch that envelope come to life! Now, that’s some holiday cheer!!
You added that holiday cheer like a boss!!! Wasn't that easy?? Go wild and try drawing the lights going in all different directions, you can even tangle them together!!
